The Tikchik River in the Wood-Tikchik State Park is a fabulous 5-7 day float. Flowing from Nishlik Lake and ending at Tikchik Lake, the river is 45 miles long. The Tikchik River is easy to navigate as it meanders through class I and II rapids. The fishing opportunities are excellent for Arctic Grayling, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, and Sockeye Salmon, along with fantastic Alaska hiking, photography, and wildlife viewing.
The river has many gravel bars for suitable camping. Bird life is prolific throughout this float and the mountain scenery nearby is stunning. This is a perfect no-stress float for those seeking a genuine Alaska experience in one of the pristine regions in Bristol Bay. We operate our air taxi service to the Tikchik River from Dillingham, Alaska.
